Parfumerie

27-Oct-06

Yesterday I took the train from Weimar to Köln. Or rather five trains, I should say. It took 8 1/2 hours to get here. Good grief.
In that time my webserver crashed and my clients all went nuts because no one could reach me. They lost an entire work day. [...]

Detournement

26-Oct-06

Today I traveled to Erfurt to visit the antifa squat at Topf und Söhne — the factory where the crematoriums for Auschwitz, Buchenwald and Dachau were manufactured.
It was a very provoking experience to say the least.
Photoset here.
Article to come.

Torah to the People

25-Oct-06

Another day, another design. This one’s for Yeshivat Simchat Shlomo’s Eco-Activist Beit Midrash. The tree was created by Josh Baum (and is used with permission). The rest is me.
As you can tell, I’m really into bursts right now.

Buchenwald

24-Oct-06

I’m still processing. I’ll spill at some point. Come, walk with me.

I just spent four hours writing. And my computer ate it. Now it’s my fucking Kubla Khan. What a phenomenal waste.

The long, slow march

24-Oct-06

So, I’m in Weimar.
Yesterday I poked around town a bit and in the evening went with Ronen to a lecture on public art given by a member of the Swedish Art Council. It was an interesting, if frustrating, talk. The gallery where it was held is has a great exhibit featuring work from [...]

If you can’t tell, the mirror has a big mustache printed on it.
I never made it to shul. I woke up at 2. Ah well.
Did a little club hopping with Eli and his girlfriend last night.
Today I went to the Holocaust memorial with Yossi and then to the Jewish Museum on my own. [...]

I’m in Berlin…

20-Oct-06

At Eli Eidelmann’s (aka DJ Humus), exhausted and practically delirious. But I’ve arrived safe and sound. More to follow.
[Update] Did some walking around. Put up a handful of photos here. Keep checking back for more shots.
Shabbos comes in in an hour. I can’t keep my eyes open. I want [...]
