Shoot. I wish I hadn’t been working hard and responsibly saving up for a house all these years, but instead had risked it all and over-extended myself in the full knowledge that my mortgage would be adjusting radically upwards after a few years. I might be able to afford it, or I might not. But who cares, right? I should have just done it anyway because I fancied a big house.
Then I could have a bunch of so-called “progressives” advocating a bail-out for my stupid carelessness.
Next time I’ll know better. Or maybe I should just buy a Rolls Royce. I might not be able to afford the payments, especially if I lose my job. But then at least I’ll have your sympathy, right?
Or maybe I should just max out my credit card while I have a 1% interest rate for 6 months. After that, if I can’t make the payments, maybe you’ll help me by printing articles condemning pay raises for bank execs.
